So today was the Jingle Bell Jog!
AKA the anniversary of my first-ever race as an adult. And in New York City. And with a pretty sane mind. I am really excited about today's anniversary. And last year I ran with Kate and this year I ran with Kate. So good!
The course is usually four miles but this time they had to shorten it to 3.7 for some sort of construction in the Park. I had a 9:30 pace/mile and I love how they always post our results. In fact, they save my results from every race I have done!
Today's race rocked because Kate and I ran together just like last year and the entire Park jingled with the bells NYRR gave us. 'Tis the Season and the costumes were amazing this year. One person ran in red Christmas pajamas with booties, there were tons of antlers out there and there was one guy dressed head-to-foot in a reindeer outfit. Brilliant. My question is, how does that change his race pace?
Running-wise, the rest of this week has been pretty sluggish. I went for a beautiful run in the park a couple days ago and yesterday's runs were sort of "squeezed in" with a 1 miler on the treadmill before work and 3 after work. All in all, a good training week and tomorrow is my 7 mile long run. Here we come!
